Figuring It Out
Elmhurst Art Museum's exhibition What Came After: Figurative Painting in Chicago 1978-1998 presented a survey of diverse interests in the figure as a subject, the human condition, and personal iconography. In preparation for this book the Teen Art Council explored several exhibitions that dealt with figurative art including What Came After (EAM), Painting the Figure Now (Zhou B Art Center), and Kelly Kristin Jones: Five Works (Mana Contemporary). This book highlights the individual, artistic responses of teens created through group discussions, personal reflection, and creative research.
The Teen Art Council was led by Joseph Hladik, Director of Education & Grants Administrator and Maria C. Vargas, Education Programs Fellow.
