Thesis Brainchild
First of all I should apologize that it has taken me this long to update this blog and write about what all has been going on in my thesis process. It looks like I have not written anything on here since October, so as you can imagine a LOT has changed in my process; in fact, the process actually has a polished outcome! So since the last post I really spent a lot of time going through the research I had done and connecting it back to everything I had read to really develop

Arriving in Los Angeles
I just hopped off the plane at LAXā¦.well to be more accurate I flew into Burbank and there was very little hopping happening getting off the plane as the woman in front of me (who also fell asleep on my shoulder in a matter of seconds after take off) was taking her sweet time moving down the ramp. Granted she came up to my belly button but still! I had places to be! Oh also, Miley Cyrus must not have been traveling to Los Angeles late August because you would literally mel

Sweat Therapy
I've always been someone that deals with my anxieties physically. While that has not always been done in the best way I'm finding new ways to positive and manage stress. Good, bad, anywhere in between will all be used to fuel my mission. Thanks so much for watching and please subscribe as the journey continues! Screw the Fear, I am a writer.
This text is a long time coming having spent the past year now in grad school tossing back and forth with ideas of how to turn the abstract into something tangible and something authentic. This indecision has put me in a place of a sort of purgatory where I have pages and pages of lists, notes, and ideas with very little development in any direction. It seemed as though my tendency to over-analyze was preventing me from deeming decisions good or bad. They were left as mere

Final Day in Mesa
Iām writing to you as I am heading home from the long and exciting week I spent in Mesa. Casey and I made a quick stop to climb a mountain (which seemed like a must-do while we were there) and are flying back home as I am typing this. My last event at the Pro Series meet was the 100 freestyle, an event that I have struggled with the last couple of years. This event used to be my absolute favorite event, but due to the way college championship season works I rarely got the opp

Second Day in Mesa
Day 2 in Mesa has proven to be just as exciting as the first day. With these meets that extend for multiple days I have always found it nice to settle in from the initial shock of the atmosphere of such a big meet. After being pleased with how I swam yesterday I was pretty excited to swim my 100 backstroke this morning. This being probably my strongest event I was eager to see what I could go. Even though backstroke has been at the center of my focus these past few months I k

First Day in Mesa
I am writing this blog from Mesa, Arizona where Coach Casey and I are for the fourth stop on the Arena Pro Series meets. For those of you that may not be familiar with the Pro Series it is a series of six meets that travel across the nation and serves as an opportunity for some of the fastest swimmers in the country (and world) to compete against the best. These meets operate in a way that allows the elite of the elite to race one another and maintain a level of high compet
